Abstract 

A series of free-standing and additive-free supercapacitor electrodes were prepared through the electropolymerization of a ferrocenyl-based monomer, and the resulting metallopolymers exhibited high porosities as well as high capacitances after optimization. The fabricated flexible all-solid-state symmetric supercapacitor devices displayed many desirable properties, including high energy densities, good cycling stability and excellent mechanical stability.1
